Sony Music Entertainment has entered into a strategic partnership with Jonathan Master, the innovative A&R and marketing entrepreneur who has worked with artists including Logic, D.R.A.M., G-Eazy, Cam'Ron, PJ Morton and Grammy-nominated producer !llmind, it was announced today. Together, Sony Music and Master are launching SamePlate, a new joint venture label focused on cultivating emerging, dynamic music talent using cutting-edge approaches to artist development and services.Master will head the New York-based imprint and oversee a dedicated staff that includes Alex Ciccimarro, who will serve as VP, Operations. Ciccimarro previously held digital marketing roles for Republic Records and Atlantic Records, and has worked on releases from Cardi B and Gucci Mane, and the soundtrack to “Hamilton: The Broadway Musical,” among others.At launch, SamePlate’s roster includes Ro Ransom, YGTUT, TOBi, Eza, Shari Marie, ROMderful and Ducko McFli. “Earlier this week, Spanish Broadcasting System, the owner and operator of 17 radio stations serving the top Hispanic markets throughout the United States for over 30 years, received disconcerting news from The Nielsen Company. Nielsen announced its intention to make sweeping, retroactive changes to its audience measurement service based on an internal decision to remove a number of Hispanic households from its ratings sampling pool. SBS, and other Spanish-language broadcasters, vehemently object and protest such unilateral, and seemingly, discriminatory actions taken by Nielsen, which unfairly and disproportionally exclude Hispanic-listener households from the ratings methodology. The restated ratings and rankings reports are, in SBS’s view unreliable, and inaccurately suggest that Spanish-language stations have dropped from top 5 rankings to number 15 or lower. This cannot stand. SBS will continue to faithfully serve its Hispanic-listener communities and will not tolerate unfair and discriminatory attacks on Spanish language broadcasters. Lebron James says neither his team nor Golden State will travel to White House after winning NBA ChampionshipCavs and Warriors pass on White House visit.Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James and Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry have been battling in the NBA Finals, but both stars agreed on Tuesday that whichever team wins the championship will skip the traditional White House visit to celebrate with U.S. President Donald Trump.The players voiced their opinions on the day Trump escalated his feud with the NFL’s Philadelphia Eagles after most of the Super Bowl-winning team passed up a White House invitation.“I know no matter who wins this series, no one wants the invite anyway,” James, whose Cavaliers trail the best-of-seven NBA Finals 2-0, told reporters in Cleveland on Tuesday during an off-day of the NBA Finals.“So it won’t be Golden State or Cleveland going.”It has been a long-standing tradition for championship teams to visit the White House, but there has been some controversy since President Donald Trump took office.Last September, Trump revoked an invitation to the Warriors, who beat Cleveland last June for their second title in three seasons, after Curry had said he would vote against a planned visit.Curry, a former two-time league Most Valuable Player, said he and his teammates would likely repeat the stance they took last year should they successfully defend their NBA title.“I hope to be in that situation and win two more games where we win a championship and obviously know what comes with that,” said Curry. “But I think I agree with LeBron.
