BMG Chrysalis USBMG Chrysalis US has announced a deal with Triggerfish Animation Studios. Triggerfish is a fast-growing Cape Town-based media and entertainment company and is one of the largest animation studios in Africa.BMG has acquired 100% of the music publishing, master sound recordings, and soundtrack album rights in and to the original score and music of Khumba. Khumba is a 3D computer-animated adventure comedy featuring a star-studded cast including Lawrence Fishburne and Liam Neeson. The film opened at #1 at the box office in South Africa last year and continues to roll out in the rest of the world.The purchase of the Khumba master recordings further adds to BMGโ€™s recorded catalogue and follows the acquisitions of Sanctuary and Mute, highlighting the companyโ€™s intentions to expand this line of business.โ€The composer, Bruce Retief, did a fantastic job of creating an authentic and original soundtrack for Khumba and weโ€™re immensely pleased that BMG will be helping his music reach a wider audience โ€ says Khumba producer Stuart Forrest.Keith Hauprich, Vice President, Business & Legal Affairs & A/V Business Development at BMG, commented: โ€œWe are thrilled to be working with Stuart Forrest and the groundbreaking Triggerfish family.
