A man killed his wife with his SUV while leaving the church parking lot. The Michigan State Police are investigating the deadly crash involving the woman.
At about 9:50 p.m. on July 5, the 82-year-old Cass City man was exiting Our Lady Consolata Parish Church parking lot in Gagetown. Using his 2021 Ford Explorer, he struck and killed his 80-year-old wife.
Prior to the incident; witnesses told investigators that the couple had been volunteering at a food drive at the church. The victim was hauling a bag of trash to another trash container located in the parking lot.
The crash remains under investigation. Authorities believe drugs and alcohol are not contributing factors to the horrific incident.
