Two Black Children Shot, One Fatally, in Chicago While Sitting in a Parked Car (video)

Two sisters ages 6 and 7 were shot while sitting in a parked car in Chicago’s northwest side around 3pm on Sunday when someone opened fire on the car. The 7-year-old, Serenity Broughton, died from her gunshot wounds, and her younger sister Aubrey remains in critical condition. This brings the total amount of children shot in Chicago to 250 for 2021, 39 have died.

Their grandmother Regina Broughton expressed shock and devastation (video) after the crime took place stating she wants justice for her grandchildren.

“How can you prepare for something like this?” the grandmother exclaims. “They were my everything.” The younger sister was shot in the armpit and chest the older sister who died had been shot in the chest.
