Previously Vaccinated Sheriff Found Dead, Delta Variant Considered Cause
Mississippi’s Hinds County Sheriff Lee Vance was found dead in his home this past Wed after previously being fully vaccinated against COVID. The cause of his death is being considered COVID-related after the Delta variant of the virus crad into the county where Vance lived and worked.
He tested positive for the virus around July 22 after being previously vaccinated and was isolated in his home as a result. He was even talking about returning to work. Unfortunately, he was found dead this past Wed after someone in the home or who was doing a welfare check on him found him unresponsive.
The facility where he worked is believed to be the place where he came in contact with the Delta variant.
The Raymond Detention Center and Work Center, which the riff’s office oversaw had 60 detainees and 14 staff members test positive for the virus as well, according to the riff-lee-vance-tests-positive-covid-19/8076976002/”>Clarion ledger
