Albuquerque, New Mexico: Impersonating a Sheriff’s Deputy

18-year-old Brendan Wazinski was sentenced for impersonating a riff’s deputy. He was caught pulling over a driver for speeding in an unmarked car with a police siren. Albuquerque police officer Danny Anzo became suspicious and discovered Wazinski was not a real officer. Wazinski eventually confessed and was charged with impersonating an officer, receiving a one-year probation and a psychiatric evaluation. He violated probation by failing to complete the evaluation but was given an extension and ultimately avoided jail time.

Miami-Dade Courthouse: Twerking Defendant

Calvin Lloyd Griffith, charged with grand theft, burglary, and trespassing, disrupted his bond hearing by twerking in front of the judge. He was on probation for a previous car theft. His bond was set at $18,500, and he was ordered to stay away from Miami Edison Senior High.

Newark, New Jersey: Divorce Hearing Controversy

Judge James Convery made a controversial comment to attorney Yvette Ramos Alvarez during a divorce hearing, leading to public reprimand by the New Jersey Supreme Court. Convery questioned Alvarez’s legal status, which led to her filing a misconduct complaint.

Las Vegas, Nevada: Improper Courtroom Procedure

Monica Contreras was arrested after complained about an inappropriate drug search conducted by Marshall Ron Fox. Her daughter was taken into protective services. Contreras later filed a complaint against Fox, leading to his firing and her receiving a $200,000 settlement.

Adelaide, Australia: Escape Attempt in Court

Daniel Nicholson attempted to escape custody during a court hearing. He assaulted officers and tried to flee but was subdued. He pleaded guilty to escape attempt and assault charges, receiving 21 months in prison with parole eligibility after one year.

Fort Lauderdale, Florida: Virtual Bond Hearing Flattery

Defendant Demetrius Lewis flattered Judge Tabitha Blackman during a virtual bond hearing. Charged with possession of an illegal substance and attempted burglary, his bond was set at $5,000, lower than the prosecution’s request.

Berea Municipal Court: Sovereign Citizen Defiance

Defendant Andrew Eldon, a sovereign citizen, refused to comply with courtroom procedures. Judge Chris Green had Eldon arrested for obstructing judicial process after Eldon continuously defied court orders.

Bakersfield, California: Defiant Defendant

Tobias Roman, charged with multiple crimes including attempted robbery and threatening with intent to terrorize, disrupted his arraignment with outbursts. He threatened the judge and was sentenced to eight months in prison for threatening a public official.

Miami-Dade County: Alleged Affair Leads to Assault

Yanelli Marie Morales was charged with burglary with assault or battery for breaking into a woman’s home suspected of having an affair with her boyfriend. Her bond hearing was delayed due to procedural issues but was eventually released on a $10,000 bond.

Douglas County, Georgia: Divine Claims in Court

Sahara Fakir, charged with murder, armed robbery, and burglary, made bizarre claims about divine retribution during her court appearance. She insisted Allah was her lawyer and demanded release, but the judge proceeded with standard legal protocol. Fakir was later found guilty and sentenced to life in prison without parole.
