Capitol Records has appointed Ian Holder and Tariq Stewart as Senior Vice Presidents of A&R. Both executives will spearhead the Urban A&R team, playing key roles in signing and developing artists for the label’s growing roster.

Ian Holder brings eight years of experience from Sony Music Publishing, where he most recently held the position of Senior Vice President of Creative. During his time there, he signed and managed the careers of high-profile artists such as Lil Mabu, Jack Harlow, Lil Durk, and Polo G.
He started his career in 2003 as an intern at Columbia Records and later worked as an executive at BMI, where he contributed to the success of artists like Post Malone and Rae Sremmurd.
Holder expressed his excitement about joining Capitol, stating, “I am so honored to be part of the team that Tom March and Lillia Parsa are assembling at Capitol. I am looking forward to contributing to Capitol’s rich legacy of artistry.”
Tariq Stewart joins Capitol after a notable tenure at RCA Records. He worked closely with RCA President Mark Pitts on Chris Brown’s GRAMMY-winning album 11:11 (Deluxe). Tariq has also been involved with rising stars such as Libianca and Skillibeng, and has worked on projects from A$AP Ferg, Rich The Kid, and Flo Milli. His A&R journey began at RCA in 2020 after a successful football career at Florida A&M.
Tariq shared his enthusiasm about the move: “It’s a hugely exciting time to be at Capitol Records. Lillia, Tom, and the entire team are building something really special, and I’m grateful to be a part of it.”
