As we step into 2025, let’s take a moment to reminisce and celebrate the highlights of the memorable 12th annual 365Black Awards, which aired on BET Networks. This prestigious awards ceremony, hosted by renowned TV correspondent Terrence ‘J’ Jenkins and the talented KeKe Palmer, was a grand celebration of the achievements and contributions of notable figures within the African- community. From spectacular performances to the honoring of outstanding individuals, this event was a testament to the rich tapestry of talent within our community. McDonald’s 365Black Awards
The McDonald’s 365Black Awards, a much-anticipated event, was broadcasted for the third consecutive year on the national cable television network, Black Entertainment Television® (BET®). The program initially aired on a summer Sunday night, with repeat broadcasts for those who missed the first airing.
An All-Star Lineup
This year’s McDonald’s 365Black Awards featured an all-star lineup, including show-stopping performances by recording B.o.B., Smokie Norful, Avery*Sunshine, Jonathan McReynolds, Amber Riley, Shanice Wilson, Sevyn Streeter, Assassin, and the promising newcomer, Andra Day. Celebrities who presented the illustrious awards included actress Wendy Raquel Robinson, actor/photographer Lance Gross, gospel music veteran Yolanda Adams, Academy-award winning rapper/actor Common, actress Salli Richardson Whitfield, actor Dondre Whitfield, actress Yara Shahidi and actor Marcus Scribner.
Recognizing Excellence
The awards were presented to honor outstanding achievements and positive contributions that strengthen the African- diaspora. Honorees included Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Ava DuVernay, multi-award-winning gospel Pastor Marvin Sapp, civic leader Marc Morial, journalist and communications specialist Jeff Johnson, and McDonald’s owner/operator Carolyn Hunter. Teen entrepreneur Tori Turner and young filmmaker Aaron Johnson were also recognized with the second McDonald’s 365Black Community Choice Youth Award, facilitated by the Thurgood Marshall College Fund.
