An Ode to Everlasting Champions: Celebrating Magic Johnson’s Legacy
Reflecting on the illustrious legacy of NBA icon and business tycoon Earvin “Magic” Johnson, one cannot help but marvel at his timeless contributions to the world of sports, business, and advocacy. in 2023, the Urban League of Greater Atlanta recognized his ceaseless efforts by bestowing upon him the “EOD Business Champion of the Year” . This was a highlight in the 51st Annual Equal Opportunity Day Dinner and Gala, an event that celebrated champions of job creation. Today, we reminisce about that unforgettable evening and the enduring legacy of Magic Johnson, a legend both on and off the court.
Magic Johnson: The Business Champion
Upon accepting the prestigious Business Champion of the Year , Johnson expressed deep honor and admiration for the Urban League of Greater Atlanta. As Chairman and CEO of Magic Johnson Enterprises, he oversaw a conglomerate that included several successful ventures. These ranged from real estate and private equity funds to TV networks, restaurants, and more.
