I have to admit, I was expecting another one of those old-school-trying-to-play-new-school-cds from Chaka and I expected something that was mediocre at best…. WHO KNEW. I’m actually surprised at the quality of her new CD and her ability to sound current and yet maintain her legendary sound. I am not being paid for this so I’m not lying. Khan has also just signed up to play Shug Avery in the Broadway smash The Color Purple. She starts rehearsals in Nov. Hear her new CD here.
