KMOX Secures Local Flagship Radio Rights for Cardinals Broadcasts
In a significant move for sports broadcasting, KMOX and the St. Louis Cardinals have once again joined forces to bring fans the excitement of Cardinals baseball. in 2011, the Cardinals a multi-year agreement with CBS RADIO’s KMOX to make the station the official flagship for all Cardinals radio broadcasts. This partnership marked a return to tradition as the team reunited with KMOX and its powerful 50,000-watt signal, extending its reach to over 40 states and parts of Canada. Through this deal, fans can enjoy all 162 regular-season games, a selection of spring training matches, post-season coverage, and various Cardinals-related programming throughout the year, including on FM through HD Radio receivers. The familiar voices of veteran announcers Mike Shannon and John Rooney continue to provide the lively play-by-play commentary. The majority of the Cardinals Radio Network remains unchanged with 117 stations nine states (Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Oklahoma, Kentucky, Missouri, Mississippi, and Tennessee), reaching a potential audience of 21.3 million people in 11 states.
