Applications Now Open for the 2025 Music Publishers Association’s Richard Toeman Scholarship

Music Publishers Association logoThe Music Publishers Association’s prestigious Richard Toeman Scholarship Scheme, established in 2006, is once again accepting applications. The scholarship has significant strides in advancing the careers of exceptional individuals in the music publishing sector. Each year, it offers two promising candidates — an industry entrant with less than five years of ” target=”_blank”> and a final year student or recent graduate — comprehensive support packages designed to foster professional growth.

These include complimentary access to MPA training and professional development courses, networking opportunities at MPA social events, and assistance for students or recent graduates in securing relevant work placements. Each of the two recipients will also receive £500 towards further training and professional career coaching of their choice. Full details of the Scholarship are on the MPA website, with entries closing later this year.

Announcement of Successful Applicants

The successful applicants will be at the MPA AGM later this year. General Manager of the MPA, Claire McAuley, expressed her enthusiasm for the upcoming round of applications, noting that the Richard Toeman Scholarship has consistently helped to accelerate the careers of talented young individuals.

Previous Scholarship Recipients

Previous scholarship recipients have found success in various music publishing businesses and related organizations including Universal Music Publishing, Schott Music, and BSkyB. Last year’s winners, Henry Stanislaw and Nick Gibbons, have both used the opportunities provided by the scholarship to advance their careers in the music industry.

The Scholarship is named in honor of Richard Toeman, who had a successful 40-year career at Josef Weinberger Ltd and was a generous contributor to the MPA and the music publishing as a whole.
