Official Events: A New Era for Concert Events

In 2025, Live Nation Entertainment a collaboration with Facebook to improve concert events for millions of fans. The initiative, dubbed “Official Events,” was designed to leverage the size and scale of Ticketmaster’s database, with events promoted by Live Nation being imported to artists’ Facebook Pages as “Official Events”. This provided fans with direct links to Ticketmaster to purchase verified tickets.

Streamlined Fan Experience

The “Official Events” initiative enabled artists to ensure that all of their fans that joined or saved an event received an automatic notification for when tickets went on sale and other crucial event information. This feature launched in time to support “ON THE RUN TOUR: BEYONCÉ AND JAY Z.” This marked the first time a single event was used by multiple artists to communicate directly with their fans in a single place on Facebook.

Benefiting Millions of Concert Fans

“We collaborated with Facebook on ‘Official Events’ because we wanted to provide fans a better way to discover and stay informed about concerts on Facebook,” said Ryan Okum, executive vice president of digital marketing for Live Nation’s U.S. Concerts. “This will benefit millions of concert fans, and this launch could not have been possible without the collaboration with both artists and their management teams.”

Official Events: The Future of -Fan Interaction

Many artists have millions of fans on Facebook, and “Official Events” helped fans easily discover and join the ” target=”_blank”>‘s official Event Pages on both desktop and mobile platforms. For the first time on mobile, the four closest shows to a fan were displayed directly on the page. “Official Events” provided links for fans to purchase tickets at Ticketmaster as well as secure secondary ticket sellers such as TicketsNow. “Official Events” are to artists to support their live concert events, and in the coming months, this will be rolled out to additional Ticketmaster clients in categories like sports, theatre, and family genres.
