As we look , we remember how the Southwest Disabilities Services & Support (SWDSS) in collaboration with Tenacious Productions and -winning author Darryl James made history with a powerful stage play, ” In A Day.” This successful event was held not only as part of their 20th Anniversary Gala & Fundraiser but also as a crucial initiative to raise funds and awareness for adults with developmental disabilities. The event highlighted the organization’s tireless work in ensuring these adults lead meaningful and productive lives. Now, in 2025, we celebrate the continued success of this initiative and the ongoing impact of the play, which remains a symbol of and resilience even in the most challenging times.
Love In A Day: A Retrospective
The play was initially showcased in Chicago, IL on Saturday, October 25, 2014, at the Monument of Faith. The evening was marked with art, music, and theater, and it was indeed a memorable ” target=”_blank”> for everyone present. The play, written and produced by Darryl James, a native of Chicago, was a compelling presentation of people in love navigating through daunting challenges.
