As we step into 2025, we look back on the transformative work done by the Black Eyed Peas in 2020, which marked their reunion a five-year hiatus. Their revamped version of the 2003 hit “Where’s The Love?” resonates louder than ever, echoing the call for calm amidst global crises. Rebranded as “#WHERESTHELOVE”, and credited as The Black Eyed Peas Ft. The World, this anthem for peace voices the collective angst of communities torn apart by violence, from Baton Rouge to Istanbul. The song converges a plethora of stars, all joining hands for a cause. The proceeds from the song have been dedicated to the i.. angel Foundation, supporting education and opportunity struggling communities. Let’s delve deeper into the journey of this remarkable campaign.

The Black Eyed Peas’ comeback song “#WHERESTHELOVE” saw an impressive ensemble featuring will.i., apl.de.ap, Taboo, and Fergie, along with a star-studded line-up of artists like Jamie Foxx, Ty Dolla $ign, Mary J. Blige and others. The song kicked off with a music video exclusive on Apple Music and was available for download on iTunes.

All proceeds from the song’s purchase in the United States were donated to the i.. angel Foundation, a non-profit organization founded by will.i. that focuses on transforming lives through education, inspiration, and opportunity.

Mapping Crisis-hit Neighbourhoods

Alongside the launch of the campaign, the i.am. angel Foundation, in partnership with leading geospatial company Esri, revealed a Story Map. This map highlighted struggling U.S. neighborhoods characterized by low education expenditure, high unemployment and poverty rates, and high murder rates. The maps were compiled using data from multiple sources and provided context about communities in crisis.

Advancing STEM Education

The i.am. angel Foundation works with organizations like College Track and FIRST Robotics to offer STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) educational programs for K-12 students in underserved communities.

The Black Eyed Peas extended their gratitude to hundreds of concerned citizens who volunteered their time and talent to contribute to the campaign in various ways, from appearing in the music video to providing marketing, promotion, legal, and non-profit advisory services.
