As we step into the year 2025, it’s time to reflect on the star-studded line-up that graced the stage at the illustrious Saint Lucia Jazz Festival, which took place April 30 to May 12, 2013. This grand cultural event, held at the iconic Pigeon Island National Landmark and scenic landscapes of the island, featured international sensations including R. Kelly, The Jacksons, Ojays, Tito Puente Jr., and Akon. Together with renowned Saint Lucian , these performers brought a unique blend of music and arts to thousands of attendees. Years on, we continue to celebrate this vibrant fusion of culture and melody that has evolved over two decades, drawing some of the most coveted names in the music industry.
The Line-Up
R. Kelly, The Jacksons, the Ojays, Tito Puente, Jr., and Akon shared the stage with renowned international and Saint Lucian during the Saint Lucia Jazz Festival.
The Venue
The festival took place at the Pigeon Island National Landmark, and various scenic locations the island, showcasing a new infusion of arts, artisans, and entertainers.
Director’s Remarks
Director of Tourism Louis Lewis stated that the festival, which has evolved over time, carries over two decades of history attracting some of the most recognizable and sought- names in the music business.
Performances
Performances at the Gaiety on Rodney Bay, the Pigeon Island National Landmark, Fond d’Or Heritage Park in Dennery, and others featured a myriad of artists including Trinidadian Trumpet player Etienne Charles, Cuban jazz pianist Roberto Fonseca, contemporary jazz bands from the French Antilles Fal Frett, and the legendary John Scofield Uberjam Band.
