Reliving the Iconic 2013 Pepsi and Beyonce Dance Competition

Looking at the summer of 2013, one of the most memorable events was the iconic partnership between Pepsi and global superstar, Beyonce. This dynamic collaboration led to the thrilling “Dance for a Chance” competition, which gave fans an unforgettable opportunity to display their dance moves and potentially star in a unique music video choreographed by none other than Beyonce’s choreographer, Chris Grant. Call to Fans

Starting July 4, 2013, fans who submitted a 10 second dance video clip themed Pepsi’s latest TV commercial featuring Beyonce were eligible to win the chance to appear in this unique “super fan” music video. Additionally, the eight grand prize winners were flown to New York as Pepsi’s guests to meet Beyonce for an unforgettable during “The Mrs. Carter World Tour” stop at the Barclays Center on August 4.

Submission Process

Fans were able to submit their videos online, via mobile and on-site at Pepsi’s Music Bus. Pepsi’s dedicated website and mobile site were optimized for easy video filming and submission. The Pepsi Music Bus also traveled the country making appearances at select “The Mrs. Carter World Tour” stop locations, where fans had a chance to use special Pepsi stages at the bus to shoot and submit videos.

Pepsi’s Promise

Pepsi truly delivered on its promise to give consumers a chance to make that summer iconic. Not only did fans get the opportunity to work with Beyonce’s head choreographer to make a unique dance video, but they were also treated as guests and introduced to Beyonce at her New York tour stop. Pepsi brought iconic opportunities for consumers to capture the excitement of the moment.

Supporting Prizes

In addition to the grand prize elements, Pepsi also had a full range of supporting prizes, merchandise and Beyonce concert tickets to give away through various social media channels and their official website. The video submission portion of the campaign began on July 4 and ran through August 8, 2013. The grand prize window for submission ended on July 20.
