The judges watched as DJ R-Tistic of Los Angeles, DJ Niena Drake of Chicago, and DJ Erika B of Newport News, Va., battled it out on the 1s and 2s for the chance to win a $10,000 grand prize and major bragging rights.
The Competition Heats Up
Rounding out the judges’ table was the 2013 McDonald’s Flavor Battle winner, DeeJay Element, while the legendary DJ Funkmaster Flex served as the show’s host. Now in its fifth year, the competition had been fierce since it kicked off with 12 beatsmiths from the country vying online for a shot to represent their region and one of McDonald’s Quarter Pounder burgers during the in-studio finale.
