It’s been about a decade since the iconic keyboardist Robert Glasper announced the release of ‘Black Radio Recovered: The Remix EP’. The 6-track EP, which was produced by Glasper himself, featured remixed and previously unreleased tracks from his critically acclaimed ‘Black Radio’. This EP was a vibrant mix, offering a new spin on tracks that originally featured notable artists such as Bilal, Erykah Badu, Mell Ndegeocello, and yasiin bey. Robert Glasper‘s standout year saw him heading into a busy autumn with the release of Black Radio Recovered: The Remix EP. The remixers include Glasper himself, as well as ?uestlove, 9th Wonder, Georgia Anne Muldrow, and Pete Rock, with additional contributions from rappersBlack Milk, Phonte, The Roots, and vocalist Solange Knowles.

The remixes reinvented tracks that originally featured Bilal(“Letter to Hermoine”), Erykah Badu(“Afro Blue”), Mell Ndegeocello(“The Consequences of Jealousy”), and yasiin bey(“Black Radio”), as well as Robert Glasper Experiment’s cover of the Little Dragon song “Twice.” Also included is “Dillatude,” the Experiment’s tribute to the late, great hip-hop music producer J Dilla which was a previously unreleased track from the Black Radio sessions.

ROBERT GLASPER EXPERIMENT’S 2012 TOUR

Robert Glasper Experiment had also been added to the line-up of the iTunes Festival 2012, taking place at the Roundhouse, Camden Town in London. By downloading the free iTunes Festival App, fans from the globe could watch the show live or view it afterwards for a limited time on their computer with iTunes, on their iPhone, iPad, iPod touch or on the big screen using Apple TV.

Glasper also announced an extensive fall North tour that included a CMJ showcase at S.O.B.’s in New York City, 2 nights at UCLA’s Royce Hall in Los Angeles that spotlighted Glasper with both his Experiment band and Trio, as well as appearances in Washington DC, Philadelphia, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, and a hometown show in Houston.
