And Help Lift Up Others This Holiday Season

December 5, 2013 (New York, NY) – HOT 97 WQHT FM, the #1 station for hip hop and R&B in the New York tri-state area, hip hop Has Heart Foundation, Incite (Emmis’ cause marketing division), and Emmis NY staff will volunteer a day of service and host “Lift ‘Em Up”, a celebration focused on lifting up New Yorkers that face challenging circumstances, on Thursday, December 12, 2013. Our partners Fidelis Health Care Insurance, Millennium Honda, the NYC Department of Health, Procter & Gamble, Red Rabbit, Tenè Nicole Marketing & PR, the Epsilon Pi Omega chapter of AKA, Black Public Relations Society NY, and the Greater Queens chapter of the Links will join Emmis NY to provide those less fortunate in our communities a first class experience with gourmet food and holiday entertainment with the hope of lifting up others with nourishment for both bodies and souls in a respectful and dignified celebration. Additionally, R&B singer/songwriter Sevyn Streeter, who has worked with award-winning artists such as Chris Brown, Alicia Keys, and Ariana Grande, and New York Knicks’ Metta World Peace, on behalf of the Ron Artest Foundation, will be on-site to help make the night even more special for all in attendance!

Participants invited by council members Leroy Comrie, Donovan Richards, and Ruben Wills, as well as Fidelis Care Health Insurance, the Allan Houston Foundation, P.S. 195 Rosedale, P.S. 276 Louis Marshall School, P.S. 45 Clarence Witherspoon School, and the St. Albans School, P.S. 36 will be able to dine on gourmet food and enjoy a performance from Sebastian Mikael, who recently performed in front of a sold out crowd at HOT 97’s Who’s Next Live, and is set to release his full-length debut album in February 2014. Throughout the night, attendees will have a chance to win tickets to see both the New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets in action during this holiday season.

Additionally, families will conclude the event with a visit to the Grow NYC Holiday Market where they will be able to take home clothing, courtesy of ROCAWEAR, new toys, and fresh and non-perishable food items to guarantee warm meals to indulge in for the upcoming holidays. The food baskets will include fruits and vegetables, courtesy of Grow NYC, as well as items from the dishes donated from all our chefs, as well as from recipes contributed by Chef Michael Symon, of ABC’s “The Chew” and Bravo TV’s Chef Roble. The complete “Virtual Shopping List” can be found online at HOT97.com/LiftEmUp; please head online today to make a donation for this worthy cause.
