(Washington, DC – March 2, 2009) – Celebrating a quarter of a century of honoring America’s best, the National Association of Black Owned Broadcasters (NABOB) and the NABOB Foundation will host their 25th Annual Communications Awards Dinner, Thursday, March 19, 2009, 7:00 p.m., at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel, 2660 Woodley Road NW, in Washington, D.C. Comedian and radio personality Steve Harvey hosts a star-studded evening honoring African-American legends and leaders in entertainment and broadcasting.
The NABOB 2009 honorees include: Multi-award winning songtress Chaka Khan; Queen of Comedy Mo’Nique; famed Gospel singer Andrae Crouch; Grammy nominated R&B singer/songwriter Keyshia Cole; R&B pioneer singer Jerry ‘The Ice Man’ Butler; Emmy Award winning actress Cicely Tyson., and U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder. The legendary female group LaBelle will be honored and will also provide the entertainment. Music Hall of Fame legend Kenny Gamble and gospel pioneer Hezekiah Walker are among the presenters.
NABOB is a non-profit corporation and the only trade organization representing the interests of African-American owners of radio and television stations across the country. The NABOB Foundation was created to develop the next generation of broadcast station owners and managers.
