10 radio stocks hit their all-time lows after the markets fell this week. A second straight plunge did even more damage to the already dwindling stocks. Salem Communications (SALM), Spanish Broadcasting (SBSA) and Cumulus, (CMLS) plummeted over 22% of their value Thursday, sinking to their lowest value to date.
5 more corporations suffered on Thursday which included: Fisher Communications (FSCI), Emmis Communications (EMMS), CBS Radio (CBS), Sirius XM (SIRI) and Journal Communications (JRN) all lost more than 10% Thursday.
As reported earlier, newly delisted Westwood One (WON) and Regent Communications (RGCI) duplicated an all-time lows this Wed. Also reported earlier media-targeted ratings giant Arbitron (ARB) took a dive in the past week seeing the stock lose over $10.00 a share.
IT’s TIME HAS COME. Sirius Xm needs to impliment “NATIONAL SPONSORSHIP”. Synopsis: Have hourly sponsors for each hour of programming. This would not include existing programming that run commercials. This would run thru out all other channels during each hour. All of these channels would have the same sponsor thru out each respective hour. Example: “This hour is being brought to you by our friends @ Coca Cola, Things Go Better w/ Coke”.This would be annouced @ limited times per hour. Also the sponsors logo or name will be displayed on radio screens of participating channels. BASED ON $5,000.00 per hour for this National Sponsorship X 24hours per day X 365 days per year=OVER $420 MILLION DOLLARS IN NEW REVENUE! If you say now is a bad time because advertising budgets are being cut back, I say now is the best time becuase companies can reach a national audience at a bargain rate.
