Local Radio Personalities Give Up Comfort of Own Home to Raise Toys for Toys for Tots
Philadelphia. Pa- In an effort to give every child in the tri-state a gift this holiday season, 100.3 the BEAT, Toys for Tots and Wal-Mart have partnered in an adventurous excursion to fill an entire school bus with toys.
Starting December 9, the BEATโs on-air personalities Poochman and Izzo will live on a traveling school bus covering the tri-state at four different Wal-Mart locations over four days ending on Saturday December 12th. According to Poochman and Izzo, they are committed to living on this bus until it is filled with new and unwrapped toys for families in need for the holiday season. โI want to make sure every child in the tri-state has something under their Christmas tree this year,โ Pooch states. โI was raised in a single parent home so I understand the financial difficulties and pressure that parents face trying to provide for their children during the holidays.โ
With a successful toy drive this year, the Toys for Tots organization will be able to provide thousands of families toys over 3 counties: Delaware County , Camden County , and Philadelphia County . โIzzoโs 3 days of Christmasโ remarkably helped serve over 1,600 families last year and the BEAT aspires to resoundingly surpass that performance with the joint efforts of Wal-Mart and Toys for Tots.
Sgt Justin Ackroyd of the Toys for Tots organization says, โToys for Tots is about giving back and helping families in need for the holidays, and we are excited about this partnership between 100.3 the BEAT and Wal-Mart to help give families in need a Christmas for the Holiday season and this is a fun and creative way to do it.โ
The traveling toy drive will be at the following locations starting next week. For more information on the drive, or to learn how you can contribute to the drive please call the media contact or go to www.thebeatofphilly.com
