Radio Facts got word this week that Warner Music Group is making some changes included enlisting Goldman Sachs Group Inc. to seek buyers for part or all of its business, a process that could lead to the sale or breakup of the world’s third-largest music company. The transactions being explored might not necessarily result in a sale of the entire Warner Music Group but instead, they could involve a sale of just Warner’s music-publishing arm. At least some potential buyers have proposed buying just parts of Warner’s recorded-music operation which includes the Atlantic and Warner Bros. record labels. Selling parts of the company would result in a toned down operation but it could position Warner to get a large portion or all of EMI. Read more from the Wall Street Journal here.
