The Black Radio Solidarity: Driving Souls To The Polls initiative was launched with a free town hall meeting at the West Palm Beach Improv, 550 S. Rosemary Ave #250, West Palm Beach, FL. The event, open to the public, was an opportunity for individuals and organizations to learn about the initiative and how to get involved in this national civic activity. The session was moderated by radio personality Warren Ballentine, host of The Warren Ballentine Show and a contributor to Sheryl Underwood Radio.
The Initiative
Black Radio Solidarity: Driving Souls To The Polls was a “Doing Good In The Neighborhood” initiative, urging media, concerned citizens, and organizations to unite and use the power of the public airwaves, and their individual energy and influence, to drive people to action: to vote in all elections, to participate in Census 2020, and to join the August 2020 “March For Jobs & Freedom 2020: A Historical Re-Creation of The 1963 March on Washington”.
A Non-partisan Campaign
The campaign, which ran from November 2019 to November 2020, was a non-partisan voter education campaign that encouraged people to vote. It connected with partners like the National Pan-Hellenic Council, NAACP, National Urban League, National Action Network, League of Women Voters, National Council of Negro Women, National Bar Association, and other active organizations, providing voter education and answering specific voter-related questions.
