When Tia Mowry and Cory Hardrict announced their divorce back in October, reports said the news “shook the internet,” said Gary With Da Tea. The radio host said Mowry has reportedly been glowing since the announcement and has recently opened up about her marriage on the Today show with Hoda and Jenna. The actress shared the moment she knew her marriage had ended, said Gary.
Mowry said, “I knew when I really started to focus on my happiness… I feel like women, we tend to focus on everybody else happiness, ensuring that everybody else is okay, meaning our children, our friends, and our family, but at the end of the day, it’s about self-love. When you start to really work on yourself, love yourself, know your value and know your worth, then all of a sudden, there’s this awakening.
And it’s not easy… It’s a hard journey, but at the end of the day, I feel like it is so, so worth it.”
Despite the split, the television star said she does not see her marriage as a failure, said Gary. Gary asked what are the ways that a person can “work” on themselves and what happens when they do practice self-improvement behaviors.
Rickey Smiley said there are many ways a person can better themselves, such as becoming “closer to God.” They can practice meditation and go to church. People also stop “sleeping around” and taking illegal substances, to name a few self-enhancement techniques.
“When you’re working on yourself, that’s what you do. You change your number, you cut everybody off,” said Smiley.
