More than 30,000 protestors gathered to speak out against the nationwide COVID-19 mandates on Sunday. The “Defeat the Mandates” march voiced the concerns speakers and protestors have about the vaccine rules.
Protestors are angry because of the requirements many large U.S. Cities now have concerning vaccination proof. New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Minneapolis, and Boston are just some cities demanding proof of vaccination before entering some business, such as restaurants and gyms.
The event started close to noon at the Washington Monument. From there, protestors headed to the Lincoln Memorial, where speakers shared their experiences and reasons to deny the vaccine and call for an end to the vaccine mandates.
Those who attended the event lobbied for a reasonable debate about the vaccine and the right for individuals to make their own voluntary and knowledgeable decisions concerning taking the shot.
“You're going to hear a lot of people talk about on the left say this is a big, anti-vax rally — it's people coming in to deny science,” said march organizer Will Witt to Fox Digital News. Witt is an author and political commentator for nonprofit PragerU.
“But this march is about the mandate, and this march is about the Draconian measures that we're seeing all across this country right now, especially in places like D.C., New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco,” he continued.
The event was sponsored by several groups including, the Front Line COVID-19 Critical Care Alliance, World Council for Health, Vaccine Safety Research Foundation, and Children’s Health Defense – headed by Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.
Speakers at the event included Dr. Robert Malone, inventor of mRNA technology used in COVID vaccines, Dr. Peter McCullough, Dr. Christina Parks, Dr. Paul Alexander, and Stephanie De Garay, mother of Maddie De Garay.
The rally lasted until around 3:30 p.m.
