Veteran broadcast and media executive Steve Carver has been named Senior Vice President and Market Manager, CBS RADIO Los Angeles , it was announced today by Dan Mason, President and Chief Executive Officer of the division of CBS Corporation.   The appointment is effective immediately.

Carver, who has worked in various CBS RADIO markets, and was Publisher, President and CEO of The Hartford Courant (2006-09), will lead CBS RADIO’s operations in Los Angeles which include KAMP, KCBS, KROQ, KRTH, KTWV, KNX-AM and KFWB-AM.   According to Arbitron’s PPM monthly data for July, all five of CBS RADIO’s FM stations rank among the Top 10 most popular stations with listeners 12+.

“I’m pleased Steve is joining our Los Angeles cluster of stations,””said Mason.   “Those who have worked closely with Steve, myself included, boast about his exceptional leadership and depth of knowledge that only comes from years of experience overseeing radio and television stations, and a newspaper.   Elevating Steve to this new role will make the most of his considerable talent.”

Prior to Carver joining The Hartford Courant, he was General Manager of WATL-TV in Atlanta (2003-06), and held a similar post at WGN Radio in Chicago (1998-2003) before that.   He was Vice President and General Manager of CBS RADIO’s WBBM-AM in Chicago (1993-98); WOGL in Philadelphia (1989-93) and also served as General Sales Manager of WCBS-FM in New York .   Carver returned to CBS RADIO earlier this year managing station clusters in Cleveland as well as West Palm Beach .

Carver replaces Ed Krampf who will be leaving CBS RADIO to pursue other opportunities.
