Showtime At the Apollo Winner, David Peaston Dies

David Peaston radiofactsIt seems like it really does happen in 3s singer David Peaston who charmed the very difficult audience as he won during the Showtime at the Apollo contest with his memorable rendition of Billie Holiday’s “God Bless the Child.” Peaston enjoyed some chart success with “Two Wrongs Don’t Make it Right” in the late 80s then he vanished after that album. He died from complications of Diabetes in NY on Wed. He was 54 years old.

This is such sad news!! David was truly a kind hearted young man and friend to me. I just asked a mutual friend about him recently. But no one had heard about him or how he was doing. He has been dealing with these health issues for some time……wow… sad loss!
