ALLIANCE FOR WOMEN IN MEDIA FOUNDATION ANNOUNCE  – THE 2018 RADIO GRACIE AWARDS WINNERS – SHIRLEY STRAWBERRY, NINA HAJIAN AND JAYDE DONOVAN AMONG HONOREES AT THE 43rd ANNUAL GRACIE AWARDS

National Awards to be Honored at Gracie Awards Gala on May 22 and  – Local Awards to be Honored at the Gracie Awards Luncheon on June 27

In an already incredible and historic year for women, the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation (AWMF) continues to celebrate programming and individual achievement by, for and about women in radio, television and interactive media by announcing winners of the 43rd annual Gracie Awards. The work of the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation is even more significant supporting educational programs, charitable activities and scholarships that benefit women in media and the public. The Gracie Awards Gala will take place on Tuesday, May 22 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, California where national radio will be recognized, and the Gracie Awards Luncheon will take place on Tuesday, June 27 at Cipriani on 42nd Street in New York, New York with local and student winners being acknowledged.

The celebrations will recognize such esteemed honorees including Shirley Strawberry of “The Steve Harvey Show” on Premiere Networks, Jayde Donovan of “Todd and Jayde in the Morning” on Cumulus Media, Nina Hajian of “Shoboy In The Morning” on CBS Radio New York, Cooper Lawrence of “The Cooper Lawrence Show” on Cox Media Group, Whitney Allen of “The Big Time with Whitney Allen” on Westwood One /Oh I Gotta, April Ryan of “On the Record” on American Urban Radio Networks and Hoda Kotb of “The Hoda Show” on SiriusXM. Some of the most talented women behind the microphone touched on issues spanning from race relations tor reproduction, immigration to women in the workforce. Outstanding programming from groups including Beasley Media Group, Cox Media Group, iHeartRadio, Hubbard Radio, Entercom, Westwood One, NPR and students including Fordham University and Hofstra University will also be honored.

“In an historic and momentous year for women, on and off the camera and in front of and behind the microphone, the Gracie Awards arrive at an important time to celebrate the storytellers who are changing the narrative and pushing boundaries in the quest toward diversity and equality,” said AWMF Chair Christine Travaglini, President, Katz Radio Group. “And as we enter our 43rd year, we at AWM, through the Gracies, are incredibly proud help usher in a new era by honoring and celebrating outstanding talent and content for, by and about women.”
