WBZ-TV / TV38 Communications Veteran to Assume Expanded Role
as Spokesperson for all CBS Local Media Properties in Boston
New York ““ Ro Dooley-Webster has been named Boston Market Communications Director, CBS Local Media, effective immediately; it was announced today by Anton Guitano, Chief Operating Officer, CBS Local Media
Dooley-Webster, who has served as Communications Director at WBZ-TV and independent sister station TV38 (WSBK-TV) since August 2004, is assuming a new and expanded role which is designed to better manage and grow the public relations and public affairs functions for all of the CBS Local Media properties in the Boston market: WBZ-TV, TV38, WBZ NewsRadio 1030, 98.5 The Sports Hub, 100.7 WZLX, Mix 104.1, 103.3 WODS-FM and the stations’ online assets, including CBS Boston.com.

She clearly has the right combination of experience, knowledge of the market and enthusiasm that makes her uniquely qualified to serve as a senior advisor to our Boston television and radio management teams and take on the important role of serving as the spokesperson for all of our Boston properties.”
Dooley-Webster will continue to report locally to Ed Piette, President and General Manager, WBZ-TV and TV38, and also to Mark Hannon, Executive Vice President and Market Manager, CBS RADIO Boston . In addition, she will report to Mike Nelson, Vice President, Communications, CBS Television Stations, and Karen Mateo, Vice President, Communications, CBS RADIO.
Dooley-Webster has more than 20 years of top management experience in broadcast journalism and marketing in New England . Before joining CBS, she served as Director of Public Relations for WHDH-TV, the NBC affiliate in Boston , where she managed all communications and many aspects of the station’s community relations functions. She has also worked as the Public Relations Director for WLVI-TV in Boston . Before that, she was the Director of Press and Public Relations at New England Cable News (NECN), the largest of the country’s seven regional news networks. Dooley-Webster was critical to the network’s successful launch and instrumental in the launch of “The FOX 25 News at 10” which was at that time produced by NECN.
Dooley-Webster serves as 1st Vice President for The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, New England chapter. She is also on the selection committee for the New England Women’s Leadership Awards, the annual signature fundraising event for The Boys and Girls Clubs of Dorchester. Dooley-Webster also serves on the 2011 Women’s Leadership Forum Committee, which is hosted and sponsored by The Ad Club of Boston. Most recently, she joined the 2011 Executive Leadership Institute presented by the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with the MIT Sloan School of Management and the Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business and Government at the JFK School of Government at Harvard University .
Dooley-Webster received her master’s degree in marketing communications from Emerson College . She is the first Emerson graduate student to be awarded the Advertising Club of Greater Boston’s Joyce Geary Memorial Scholarship. Prior to that, she earned her bachelor’s degree in communications and marketing from Boston College .
Dooley-Webster is a New England native who resides in Boston with her husband.
