‘Clueless’ was release in 1995, and was a teen romance film. The film was directed and written by Amy Heckerling. The teen movie took place in Beverly Hills and was about a group of teens and they’re over the top lifestyle. It stared Alicia Silverstone as the main character Cher, along with a young Paul Rudd, Breckin Meyer, Jeremy Sisto, Stacey Dash, the late Brittany Murphy, and Dan Hedaya as Cher’s father. The film was loosely based on Jane Austen’s novel, “Emma.”
Nothing else is known about the reboot since development is still in its early stages. It is still unclear if the anyone from the original cast will return for the reboot.
The film was a hit with Gen X due to phrases like, “as if”, “totally buggin”, and “I’m audi.”
With only a $12 million budget, the original movie earned $56 million in the U.S. This lead to a spinoff television show, which didn’t do as well and lasted only three seasons.
If you need a Clueless fix and can’t wait for the reboot, “Clueless’ Off Broadway musical premieres December 11 starring Dove Cameron as Cher.
