Actor and Comedian Tony Rock, stopped by to help Radio One Richmond kick off their 13th Annual Toy Distribution Day this past Friday, December 9th  at the Arthur Ashe Community Center in Richmond, VA.  Developed by Radio One Richmond’s News Director, Ms. Community Clovia –  The goal of this event is to provide a smile to families who may have hit hard times and need assistance with providing their children with toys on Christmas morning.

For a period of one month, Radio One Richmond, The City Of Richmond, The Mayor’s Office and many other community partners work tirelessly to collect toys at various collection drives for children ages 2 through 16  years of age. During the one month time frame, nominations of families from across the city, pour into the Radio One Richmond Office and personal invitations to the Toy Distribution Day are mailed to each household by members of the Radio One Richmond Staff.

This year, Radio One Richmond mailed close to 1,000 invitations for families to attend the distribution day.   Upon arrival, guests were greeted by the Radio One Richmond Air Personalities and Staff , were assigned personal shoppers  to go pick out toys for their children and engage in all of the other fun activities on site that day.
