Monitoring Hurricane Harvey

Message from the Office of the President:

The University is continuing to monitor developments related to Hurricane Harvey. The safety of our students, faculty and staff is paramount.

According to the current forecast, the center of the hurricane is expected to make landfall north of Corpus Christi sometime today. Given the unpredictability of the storm system, the exact impact of the storm on the Austin area cannot be specified at this time.

We do know, however, that a significant amount of rainfall, accompanied by potentially strong winds, is expected in the Austin area.

Faculty, staff, and students should regularly monitor their e-mail, Facebook, and Twitter; as alerts will also be shared there, along with our website. Our campus alert text-messaging system, RAVE, will also be used to update students, faculty and staff as necessary.

Thank you.
