MICHAEL MARTIN NAMED VICE PRESIDENT, CHR PROGRAMMING, CBS RADIO

MICHAEL MARTIN NAMED VICE PRESIDENT, CHR PROGRAMMING,

RADIO, one of the largest major with nearly 70 million unique over the air on a weekly basis, today announced Michael Martin has been named as Vice President, CHR Programming.   In this new role, Martin will guide CBS RADIO’s Top 40 strategy and preside over the format currently being broadcast on 10 stations across the nation, including outlets in four of the Top 5 markets.   The is effective immediately.

Martin will maintain his responsibilities as Vice President of Programming for CBS RADIO ’s , as well as of 99.7 NOW (KMVQ-FM), Alice @97.3 (KLLC-FM) and Live 105 (KITS-FM).   In addition, Martin has also been overseeing the on-air presentation of 92.3 NOW in New York while the company looks to name a new .

“Michael has done a tremendous job growing the for our San Francisco stations, and transitioned 99.7 NOW into a top performer in the market,” said Greg Strassell, Senior Vice President, Programming, CBS RADIO.   “He’s already worked with a number of our Top 40 stations, providing the kind of insight that can only come from someone who has first hand experience creating incredibly successful stations.   We welcome his influence on our entire portfolio of CHR properties.”

Martin joined CBS RADIO in 2009 following a career managing the operations/programming for a number of stations in Los Angeles and San Francisco, including serving as Program Director of KYSR-FM, -FM, -FM and KIOI-FM.
