CBS RADIO’s KMXB, Mix 94.1 and Mark and Mercedes in the Morning have announced a renewal of their vows with another multi-year deal to wake up Las Vegas listeners. The duo, produced by J.C. Fernandez, celebrate their 15th anniversary with the station in addition to being named “Best Radio Personalities“ by the Las Vegas Review Journal’s reader’s poll for the 12th year in a row.
“Mark, Mercedes and J.C. have been at the top of the ratings every month this year,” says KMXB Program Director Charese Fruge. “They are real, driven, and accomplished, and I am both honored and extremely grateful to have them on our team.”
The show has also been named “Best Radio Morning Program” by Las Vegas Weekly, CityLife, Las Vegas CitySearch and Women in Communications (organizers of the annual Las Vegas Electronic Media Awards). Nationally, Mark and Mercedes were named “Best Local Morning Show” by FMQB magazine in 2008.
Additionally, Mark and Mercedes have tremendous involvement in various charities such as Make-A-Wish Foundation, CCFA, Ronald McDonald House, Susan G. Komen, United Way, Salvation Army, HELP of Southern Nevada, and the City Mission of Las Vegas.
Former Las Vegas mayor, Oscar Goodman says, “Las Vegas is so lucky to have Mark & Mercedes with us. What great news of their contract renewal. This guarantees more Super Bowl bets with the Mayor and me!” Mark and Mercedes are excited to continue their annual tradition with the former mayor and his wife, the new mayor, Carolyn Goodman.
Mr. Las Vegas, Wayne Newton is also a longtime fan of the show. “Over the past 15 years I’ve had so many great memories of being a guest of Mark and Mercedes. They do so much for the community and I especially loved being a part of Mercedes’ birthday shows. She is one of my favorite people, so any chance I can get to celebrate her…I will. And since Mark keeps his birthday a secret, we don’t celebrate his…haha!
