Luke James Selected by Beyonce’ to Open For the U.S and Canadian Leg of Her World Tour

luke james1Today it was announced that N.A.R.S. Records/ Island Def Jam recording artist Luke James was chosen again by 17-time GRAMMY ® Award winner and global superstar Beyoncé as the opening performer on her Mrs. Carter Show World Tour 2013 “” for the U.S. and Canadian leg of her tour. After a successful run on the European dates, Luke James re-joins Beyoncé on tour beginning June 29th at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, through August 5th at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY, with the exception of Dallas, TX. GRAMMY ® Award-nominated will once again take the stage to deliver a powerful performance full of his signature soulful sound. (See tour dates below)

Luke James returned to the U.S. earlier this month after opening for Beyoncé on the European leg of her tour, which included performances in major cities such as Paris, London, Munich, Milan, Dublin, Manchester and Zurich. Performing his latest single, “˜I.O.U.’ and his signature debut single “I Want You,” Luke Jamesperformances were widely acclaimed by fans and media alike.

“I am so honored and humbled that Beyoncé personally chose me to share the stage with her again,” says Luke James. “Being on tour overseas with Beyoncé was magical! I learned so much from her in Europe. Her artistry, professionalism and work ethic are incomparable. She and Jay-Z gave me great advice about perfecting my live show and connecting with the audience. I am really looking forward to bringing that same energy and performance that I delivered overseas to the U.S. audience.”

Luke James, nominated for Best R&B Performance at the 2013 GRAMMY ® Awards for his hit single, “˜I Want You’ and nominated for Best New Artist at the 2012 Soul Train Awards, has been captivating audiences with his live . Recently branded by Billboard as “R&B’s new golden boy” and “a star,” bet.com also said “it would be a pop culture injustice if Luke James doesn’t become a household name.”

Signed to N.A.R.S. Records, the helmed by award-winning producer Danja and long-time collaborator/mixing engineer ; and by managed by Beyoncé’s creative director/show director, Frank Gatson Jr. and business partner Greg Parks, this marks the fourth time Luke James has been championed by Beyoncé for his artistry and vocals for years. Luke James was tapped for a featured role in her 2011 “Run the World” video, and was the sole opening act for all fourof the Beyoncé’s shows at Revel in Atlantic City for her “Back To Business” concerts last summer; and now being asked to open for the Mrs. Carter Show World Tour in Europe and USA.

Luke James has amassed an impressive list of writing credits, including tracks with Justin Bieber (“That Should Be Me”), Chris Brown (“Crawl”), and Britney Spears (“Kill The Lights”), as well as KERI HILSON, Brandy, and others. Luke James‘ latest single, “I.O.U.,” features rapper Wale, and his highly anticipated debut album, Made to Love, is scheduled for release Fall 2013.

Luke James will also be taking the stage in New Orleans at the Mercedes Benz Superdome in the McDonald’s Superlounge as part of the line-up of performers at the ESSENCE FESTIVAL 2013 on July 7th.

Luke James can also be seen in the upcoming movie, “Black Nativity,” co-starring with Angela Bassett, , Jennifer Hudson and Mary J. Blige, due for release on November 18, 2013.
