KROQ‘S LISA WORDEN TO BE FEATURED ON BILLBOARD’S “˜WOMEN IN MUSIC‘ POWER PLAYERS LIST FOR SECOND YEAR IN A ROWEsteemed music industry publication Billboard has just announced its eagerly anticipated list of 2011 “˜Women in Music’ Power Players list. Among the honorees in this special feature is Lisa Worden, Music Director of CBS RADIO’s World Famous KROQ in Los Angeles . Billboard’s annual Women in Music issue has become a favorite among readers for the past seven years, and 2011 marks a special repeat triumph for Worden, who was named to the list both last year and this year. Billboard editors chose this year’s group of deserving and impactful honorees “who drive our business forward with their vision, dedication and hard work,” from a crop of nearly 200 qualified candidates.Worden, who has been a tastemaker for nearly 17 years at KROQ, the influential top-rated alternative rock Radio Station in the nation, is known throughout the radio and alternative music world for her success and intuition in breaking music and discovering bands, as well as helping the Radio Station continually top the Arbitron ratings within its target demographic.In conjunction with the themed issue of the publication, Billboard recognizes its exceptional Power Players at a special Women in Music Event. Worden and her fellow talented and powerful brethren are invited to attend a soiree on Friday, Dec. 2 in New York City , where country songstress Taylor Swift will be honored as Billboard’s Woman of the Year.
