iHeartMedia San Diego’s Newsradio 600 KOGO, San Diego’s News & Information Station,has been honored with the Edward R. Murrow Regional Award for a Newscast by the Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA).

A broadcast made by KOGO reporter Phil Farrar was singled out for the honor. “KOGO News with Phil Farrar” will now compete with fellow regional winners for the national award. The national award winners will be announced this summer and presented at the Edward R. Murrow National Awards Gala on October 10, 2022.
Newsradio 600 KOGO is part of the RTDNA’s Region 2 Large Market Radio Newscast category, which includes California, Nevada and Hawaii.
The RTDNA has been honoring outstanding achievements in broadcast and digital journalism with the Edward R. Murrow Awards since 1971. Among the most prestigious in news, the Murrow Awards recognize local and national news stories that uphold the RTDNA Code of Ethics, demonstrate technical expertise and exemplify the importance and impact of journalism as a service to the community.
