Jacobs Media’s “Radio’s Interactive Superstar” Winner

ris Petlak, (WTMX/Chicago) has won an industry election to be named “Radio’s Interactive Superstar.” The contest, sponsored by radio consultants Jacobs Media, was designed to highlight the digital and social media talent throughout the radio industry, as well as showcase examples of the great digital work being done by local stations.
The Jacobs Media web site was inundated with more than 43,000 votes over a one-week period. Not surprisingly, each of the contestants marshaled their social networks and communities to generate votes, demonstrating the power of social media.
“At this year’s Summit, we wanted to highlight the outstanding work in social media and digital that’s being done at radio stations,” Jacobs Media Director of Digital and Social Media Lori Lewis commented.
Chris is Social Media Manager for Hubbard’s WTMX Chicago. He will be flown to Baltimore to host a presentation at the Jacobs Media Summit on December 7th. According to Chris, “I am very happy that Jacobs Media has created an opportunity that spotlights social media in radio. I look forward to sharing my thoughts on social media at the Jacobs Media Summit in December and representing both WTMX and Hubbard Radio.

While Petlak won at the ballot box, the other candidates deserve recognition for their great work. They are:

The Jacobs Summit and Arbitron Client Conference runs from December 6-8 at the Hyatt Regency Inner Harbor in downtown Baltimore. The Summit is the afternoon of Wednesday, December 7th.
The cost to register for the entire event is $174 for Arbitron clients ($349 for non-Arbitron clients), but there is a $25 discount for Jacobs Media clients. The registration fee includes applicable breakfasts, lunches and receptions so it’s an even a better deal.
