Ingrooves Signs Global Distribution Deal with Ubiquity Records

Ubiquity Records, including its Luv N’ Haight sub-label (the first rare groove, funk, and soul re-issue label in the US), and CuBop has signed a global distribution deal with Ingrooves Music Group, a leading independent music marketing services, and distribution company.

Founded in 1990, by Michael McFadin from his infamous record store, Groove Merchant, made famous by the Beastie Boys song ‘Professor Booty’, Ubiquity Records has amassed an unrivaled and iconic catalog of nearly 10,000 songs.

“For 30 years, Ubiquity Records has been an incredibly influential and musically important label,” said Amy Dietz, Executive Vice President/General Manager of Ingrooves Music Group. “We are thrilled to welcome them to Ingrooves and look forward to working closely with them to expand their audiences around the world.”

The first releases under the deal include a new single from Chico Mann a cover of Fela Kuti’s classic, “Sorrow, Tears & Blood” on October 23rd, including a full length on November 20th entitled Double Life. Chico Mann is the alter ego of Marcos Garcia, guitarist, producer, and founding member of the seminal Afrobeat band Antibalas. In addition, there is a new single by 70’s soul legend Mike James Kirkland & Cold Diamond & Mink collaborate on a duo of singles with the first release “Closer,” followed by “Stay, Don’t Go.”
