Great Story on PPM: Black and Ethnic stations’ ratings still a hot topic

Other economic  issues have taken some of the spotlight off the controversy over whether Arbitron ‘s () properly measures black and ethnic radio listenership. The November ratings issued last week suggest it probably hasn’t gone away yet.

On the other side, the PPMs continue being very good to stations like WCBS-FM, , and , as well as ongoing powerhouses like WHTZ and WLTW – which are the top two overall. In the morning, at least from Oct. 16-Nov. 22, we listened to a lot of news.

WINS and WCBS-AM were No. 1 and No. 2, with 14.4% of the audience between them. Talkers WABC and were also in the , and if you add WNYC-AM and WNYC-FM together, they’d be in the , too. On the controversial side, Arbitron has said [ read the whole story here ]
