The Network’s Cadence13 and Pineapple Street Studios Recognized for “Most Compelling and Empowering Stories” in Broadcast and Digital Media in 2019

Entercom, a leading media and entertainment company and the #1 creator of live, original, local audio content, today announced that its Podcast Network, including Cadence13 and Pineapple Street Studios, received three prestigious 2019 Peabody Award nominations and was the only audio company to receive multiple nominations.

Headlong: Running from COPS and The Catch and Kill Podcast with Ronan Farrow from Pineapple Street Studios, and Gangster Capitalism, Season One: The College Admissions Scandal from Cadence13’s C13Originals studio were recognized. The Peabody Awards honor the most powerful, enlightening and invigorating stories in television, radio and digital media.

“For our small shop to get two Peabody nominations is just an incredible testament to the care, thought and creativity the entire Pineapple Street Studios team puts into the work,” said Jenna Weiss-Berman and Max Linsky, co-founders, Pineapple Street Studios. “Working with world-class talents like Dan Taberski and Ronan Farrow is an honor and we’re thrilled by the recognition for our incredible staff and these two critically important shows, which we were so proud to put out into the world.”

“We could not be prouder to have Gangster Capitalism, Season One and our amazing team behind it, be recognized for this prestigious and wonderful honor,” said Chris Corcoran, Chief Content Officer, Cadence13. “When we launched our C13Originals division, our objective was to create and produce compelling and impactful documentaries of the highest quality, and we’re thrilled to have the Peabody team honor the incredible work of our collective team.”

This year’s nominated programs incorporate a variety of pressing issues, including white collar corruption; the criminal justice system and the ethics, impact, and problems of the long-running reality show “COPS;” the repercussions of the #MeToo movement and the practice of “catch and kill” employed by powerful entities; and immigration rights.
