Radio Facts: DETROIT (WXYZ) – Dick Purtan will host his last radiothon to raise money for the Salvation Army’s Bed and Bread program on Friday.

Tuesday, he set out on his last ride in the truck that has helped so many Detroiters. Despite the thanks and smiles of those Purtan has helped, it was a bitter sweet day.   Purtan has been on a mission for 22 years and has raised $22 million to keep the Bed and Bread trucks running. [source]
