iHeartmedia (formerly Clear Channel) Drives Support for Mississippi River Flood Victims
Partners with American Red Cross and The Mid-South Food Bank on a Special Event to Assist Relief Efforts in the Hard-hit Mid-South and Celebrate the Resilience of Area Residents
MEMPHIS, TN – May 26, 2011 – iHeartmedia (formerly Clear Channel) Communications, Inc. today announced that its radio and outdoor divisions are joining together with the American Red Cross Mid-South Tennessee Region and the Mid-South Food Bank to host a special relief event to assist victims of the devastating Mississippi River flood crisis and celebrate the resilience of area residents in the face of this unprecedented crisis.
A keynote fundraising event will be held on June 1 at the Wal-Mart Supercenter ®, located at 8400 Highway 64 in Bartlett, TN, from 6am – 6pm. KWNW, WDIA, WREC, KJMS, WHRK, WEGR WHAL, iHeartmedia (formerly Clear Channel) Outdoor, The Red Cross and The Mid South Food Bank will be on hand to collect non-perishable food items and monetary donations. Monetary donations can also be made through 1-800-RED-CROSS or online at www.redcross.org.
iHeartmedia (formerly Clear Channel)’s radio stations and digital billboards in the region are broadcasting coverage of the latest flood activity, as well as relief locations where residents can find help.
“Rising floodwaters have taken a brutal toll on the Mid-South, Memphians and all residents in the region need our help and support.
