Chicago’s Soul 106.3 Adds Classic Hip Hop Show

Chicago’s Soul 106.3 Adds Classic Hip Hop ShowTeefa-550x366Chicago R&B outlet WSRB 106.3 FM will now add classic to its catalog of music offered through the station that targets adult urban listeners. Beginning on Monday, February 9, the station will debut its new feature show titled “The Basement” hosted by Chicago rap artist and former Power 92 on air personality “Teefa”. The specialty show will air each weekday from 10pm-12midnight on WSRB 106.3 FM.

Listeners tuned in to “The Basement” will hear tracks like Notorious B.I.G. “Juicy” to Wu-tang Clan’s “C.R.E.A.M”. The show is designed for the mature hip hop lover who enjoys reminiscing to the tracks they grew up with. Master P, Junior Mafia, Doug E Fresh, and Naughty by Nature are some of the artists to be featured on the new show.

Nobody is more pumped up about this format than 106.3’s on air personalities Mike Love, Sundance, and newly added Ramonski Love who started their careers in Chicago radio with much of this music.

When asked about the infusion of Hip-Hop throwbacks on 106.3 FM, Crawford Broadcasting GSM Ruben Cornejo replied “Classic hip hop has a place on R&B radio where the 80s and 90s kids have now grown up. We feel the best home for it is with Chicago’s veteran dj’s that experienced the music right alongside its listeners.”
