Blige’s Webcast to Follow Taping of Her Performance on CBS’s “LATE SHOW with DAVID LETTERMAN,” Which Will Be Broadcast Later That Evening
The popular “Live on Letterman” music series returns with nine-time GRAMMY ® Award-winning artist Mary J. Blige. The “Live on Letterman” webcast concert from the Ed Sullivan Theater takes place on Tuesday, Feb. 16, following the taping of Blige’s performance on the LATE SHOW with DAVID LETTERMAN. During the concert, Blige will be performing songs from her recently released ninth studio album, Stronger withEach Tear, as well as some of her biggest hits.
This CBS Interactive Music Group event will be promoted across and broadcast on several CBS assets, as the concert will be streamed on the LATE SHOW website at CBS.com (www.cbs.com/late_night/late_show) that evening at approximately 8:00 PM, ET/5:00 PM, PT, with extensive coverage on-air and online provided by several CBS RADIO stations in major markets across the country. Additionally, access to live and on-demand video of the concert will be available on CBS properties including Last.fm, mp3.com, TV.com, etonline.com and theinsider.com, as well as the CBS Television Station websites.
Blige’s exclusive performance is the sixth time the LATE SHOW has used the historic Ed Sullivan Theater as a concert venue ““ Pearl Jam performed a live webcast concert for the LATE SHOW and CBS.com on May 4, 2006, Elvis Costello and the Imposters did one on May 14, 2007, Paul McCartney performed from atop the Ed Sullivan Theater marquee during his webcast concert on July 15, 2009, and Tim McGraw participated in a webcast event Oct. 12, 2009. Most recently, John Mayer performed on “Live on Letterman” Nov. 19, 2009.
Additionally, Blige’s LATE SHOW appearance will be broadcast that same night, Tuesday, Feb. 16 (11:35 PM-12:37 AM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
An acclaimed singer/songwriter, entrepreneur and philanthropist, Blige has sold more than 40 million records worldwide. Most recently, she collaborated with tenor Andrea Bocelli at the 52nd Annual GRAMMY ® Awards, performing a duet of “Bridge Over Troubled Water” in honor of those affected by the Haitian earthquake tragedy. The live performance and the studio version of the duet, produced and arranged by David Foster, are available for download exclusively at iTunes.com/Target. All proceeds will be donated to the American Red Cross Haiti Relief and Development Fund.
