‘Bridgerton’ Star Ruby Barker Hospitalized for Mental Health Issues: “I was carrying the weight of the world on my back.”

“Bridgerton” star Ruby Barker was hospitalized for mental health issues. The TV star opened up about her “mental health struggle” and talked about her recent hospitalization.

On Thursday, the 25-year-old said in a video shared on Instagram that “it’s time to be transparent” and confessed that she has been “struggling since ‘Bridgerton.’”

She thanked her fans and loved ones for taking care of her and was incredibly grateful for Netflix for “saving” her.

“I have been really unwell for a really long time,” Barker said. “I want to be honest with everyone. I have been struggling.

“I am in hospital at the minute, and I am going to be discharged soon and hopefully get to continue with my life.”

Barker played Marina Thompson in the hit Netflix series “Bridgerton.” Amid Mental Health Awareness Week in the UK, the actress shared an uplifting message with her followers.

“I am going to take a little bit of a break for myself, and I would encourage others, if you are struggling, please do yourself a favor and take a break. Stop being so hard on yourself,” Barker said.

Barker said as she explained the source of her inner conflict that she was “raged-filled” and “angry” and had “intergenerational trauma bundled up inside” of her.

“I was carrying the weight of the world on my back, and now I am at the point where I have a diagnosis, and I will talk to you about that at another time,” she said, adding, “I can’t carry on the way that I’ve been carrying on. I need to change, so that’s what I am trying to do.

“I want to survive, and I will survive. I am going to.”
