BMI Slated to Honor Janet Jackson with Icon Award

The event will be held Thursday, 30th at The Woodruff Arts ’s Symphony Hall in Atlanta and will be hosted by BMI President & CEO Mike O’Neill and BMI Vice President (Atlanta), Catherine Brewton, with Lifestyle Specialist Kenny Burns as -host.
Others scheduled to attend include: Ciara, Missy Elliott, Normani, Teyana Taylor, Ellie Mai, Derez De’Shon, H.E.R, Jacquees, Kash Doll, Rich Homie Quan, Evan Ross, Ashley Simpson, Jussie Smollett, The Dream, Tamar Braxton, Mannie Fresh, Ludacris, Metro Boomin, Keri Hilson and more.
WHAT: The 2018 BMI R&B/Hip-Hop Awards will salute the top songwriters, producers, publishers and administrators of the past year’s 35 most-performed R&B/Hip-Hop songs in the United States from BMI’s repertoire of more than 13 million musical works. The BMI R&B/Hip-Hop Songwriter, Producer and Publisher of the Year will be named during the ceremony. In , the winner of the BMI Social Star Award, which is given to the BMI songwriter with the most engaged social media audience, will be announced. This year’s nominees are Gunna and Derez De’Shon.
