BMI’s R&B/Hip-Hop Song of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, Publir of the Year,
Producer of the Year and 35 Most Performed Songs of the
Previous Year to be Announced
Evening Will Also Pay Tribute to the 50th Anniversary of Hip-Hop
with Performances Featuring Some of Hip-Hop’s Most Groundbreaking Artists
BMI will be celebrating excellence in R&B/Hip-Hop at the 2023 BMI R&B/Hip-Hop Awards on September 6th in Miami Beach. The event will honor Lil Wayne as a BMI Icon for his influential career spanning over two decades. The evening will also recognize the top songwriters, publirs, and producers in the genre.
The celebration will feature the songwriters behind hit tracks like “BILLIE EILISH.,” “Break My Soul,” and “Super Gremlin,” along with performances by iconic rappers to mark the 50th Anniversary of Hip-Hop.
Hosted by BMI President & CEO Mike O’Neill and BMI Vice President, Creative, Atlanta, Catherine Brewton, the event will highlight the year’s 35 most-performed R&B/Hip-Hop songs in the U.S. from BMI’s extensive repertoire of musical works. Awards for R&B/Hip-Hop Song of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, Publir of the Year, and Producer of the Year will also be presented.
